Oldschool doesn’t even come close to describing Jay Smay. with more than 35years of skating behind him, 25 years or more on a competitive level, Jay oozes a style not seen in the skaters of today. Grabbing up his first sponsorships after placing 2nd in a CASL event in the infamous “Upland Combi-pool” in 1984, he’s been stuck on go! Limiting his skating today to strictly the 3 P’s, pools, parks, and pipes, Jay is at it everyday the weather permits. Still entering contests a few times a year, but mostly just skating for the most important reason, the fun of it. Jay does most of the product development here at Rebel Skates. Designing deck shapes, graphics, etc. He also does his fair share of passing on his knowledge to the future generations of skateboarders. whether it’s managing the Rebel team or coaxing the local kid at the skatepark to drop in for the first time. It would be imposible to talk about Jay and not include skateboarding in the conversation. Equally impossible would be to talk of skateboarding history in Portland Oregon and not include Jay Smay and Rebel skates.
Jay Smay Rides Rebel Skates Skateboards , 187 pads, and Knuckle Clothing co. Exclusively.
